The Christmas Book

I started this card by rubbing the light green card stock layer using our Magic Anti-Static Brush Combo (includes REFILL).  You do this to eliminate any embossing powder getting on the places you don’t want it.  AFTER you rub the card stock with the Magic Anti-Static Brush then you will use the Wow Ink (which includes a Refill) to ink up your Falala Bold Prints Background Stamp (which is on SALE now for only $5 originally $15).  Stamp it onto the card stock.  Generously sprinkle on the WOW Clear Detailed Embossing Powder.  Hold the cardstock carefully with the Paper Paws and heat the image using the Heat Tool.  Using the Wow Ink, it darkens the letters.  It’s the clear ink that does that.  GORGEOUS.  Cut down the cardstock so it measures 4″ x 5 1/4″ and add that to your card base using the  EZ Grand Tape Runner and smooth it out using the Smooshy.

Wow Ink & Refill Combo

Cut out the pieces for your book from the Book Die Set.  It’s such a fun die and very versatile.  You can use it for so many occasions and it has a lot of embellishment dies right in the set.  For this one I used some from other sets to make it a unique holiday card.

Turn your book and the page cut outs over so the back is facing up.  Using your Precision Glue Press and Deluxe Adhesive add the glue to the RED book only around the the edges.  Add the pages to the book making sure that the pages look like the picture above.  I have the larger margin on top and the pages are INSIDE of the end of the book.

Turn the book back to the front (so you are looking at the right side of the book).  Add the “rim” of the book pages to the bottom.  Do you see what I mean about the book laying past the pages.  I hope this makes sense.  :0)

Rub the small rectangle piece you just cut out using our Magic Anti-Static Brush Combo (includes REFILL).  You do this to eliminate any powder getting on the places you don’t want it just like you did above.  AFTER you rub the card stock with the Magic Anti-Static Brush then you will use the Wow Ink (which includes a Refill) to ink up your sentiment from either the Christmas Feeling or the Christmas Moments set.  Stamp them on the upper part of the rectangle.  Generously sprinkle the WOW Gold Detailed Embossing Powder over the stamped image.  Heat the image using the Heat Tool and Paper Paws. WOW!!!!!!!!

Repeat the same instructions for the spline of the book (there is a separate piece for the spline that you will attach after the embossing is complete) using the sentiment from the stamp set called Sentiment Asst. Merry Christmas.  IMPORTANT – I actually stamped the sentiment FIRST then cut it out with the spline die.  Lining it up is so much easier!  But that’s up to you!

Add these pieces to the front of the card using Thin White Foam Squares.  You want a little pop to these elements but not a lot so we are using the Thin White Foam Squares.

Cut out the Petite Poinsettia from the Gold Mirror Paper.  I also cut one set out of some dark green card stock.  Glue them together using the Precision Glue Press and Deluxe Adhesive.  Fluff and arrange them so they look good.  I used my Retractable Pick to curl them.  Adhere the Petite Poinsettia to the book cover using Regular White Foam Squares for the pop!  

In the middle of the poinsettia, add a little Crystal Glaze and sprinkle on some of the Buddy Holly Prills using the Craft Spoon.  The Craft Spoon makes life so much easier!  There is a COMPLETE list of MUST HAVE’S listed below.  Make sure you get them to help your crafting days easier.

Add your card to one of our A2 White or A2 Cream Envelopes and mail it off to your dear friend.
