Hidy Ho Teaspoon Fans,

We are so excited here at Teaspoon Of Fun….it’s the first day of SUMMER!  The longest day of the year which means more time to craft!!!!  WOOO HOOO!!!!  Today I thought it was fitting to celebrate this day with our NEW Looking Glass Lighthouse die set.  I love love love this.  Let’s take a look at what I picked for you today….

These cards are so much fun to create.  You can use all three layers or any combination of them.  I also used them in a row as the one above.  There is a template for this to make aligning it so much easier.

And here is the tool for your A2/A6 cards…..

So how did we do this layering….

For this card, I cut everything from Marshmallow Fluff cardstock and colored with my Copic Markers but you can certainly cut from cardstock that already has color to make it even faster!  Using the Alignment Tool A2/A6  (see the picture above) and my Sticky Note Tape Roll, I centered the sailboat and cut it out.

When you remove the die, you will see how it centered it.

Repeat for the Lighthouse.

And repeat for the forest.

When cutting the trees/forest, make sure you cut out the tree tops going down (many people make this mistake!)

When you layer these, if you use the alignment tool, they line up perfectly!

When coloring, if you want straight lines, use your Sticky Note Tape Roll to mask off the lines.

I colored with my Copic Markers.

Trees – YG03, G24, G99

Water and Boa -t  N2, C1, C5, BG10, B93, B99

Lighthouse/Rocks/Lightbeam – Y23, Y08, Y15, YR04, R24, R37, R39

Before you start layering, use your  White Gel Pen to make some stars in the sky.  When layering, it’s VERY important to use the THIN White 3D Foam Squares so it’s not too fat to mail.

When coloring the trees, you may not know where to stop coloring so that your water doesn’t show green in the waves.  The easiest way to avoid this is to put a piece off coordinating paper behind the waves (see the picture below).

I added a piece of coordinating cardstock to cover up the green from the trees when layering.

and when you are done!!!!!
