Happy National Groundhogs Day

Hidy Ho Teaspoon Fans,

February 2, 2022.  It’s National Hedgehog Day!!!  Snow or no snow….that is the question (don’t look at tomorrow’s forecast for upstate New York – you won’t need a hedgehog or a groundhog – ice and snow coming our way!!)  Today Teaspoon of Fun is bringing two adorable cards (with illustrator Anita Jeram) for today’s celebration.  Let’s take a look at what I picked for you today…

and YES it’s a real thing!!

Did you know that National Hedgehog’s Day came before National Groundhog’s Day and is STILL celebrated today – the groundhog just gets more press and YES it’s a real thing?  National Hedgehog Day is a Roman tradition preceding the modern ‘Groundhog Day’. Whichever you celebrate, we are here to lend a stamping hand!

I just love these Fancy Circles Die.  They are perfect for sentiments.  I framed this one with our Stitched Frames which was the perfect look.  The detail in this set of frames is beautiful!  I then watercolored with my Altenew Pans on our Watercolor Paper.  You could color with just about anything.  The images are so fun and easy to add your pop of color!  You definitely want to adhere this frame to your base card with our BLACK – 3D Crafty Foam Tape.  It’s the perfect width for this frame.

From that same Hedgehog Day set I made another cute card.  I water colored this one too but this time I took my Watercolor Paper and taped it down to the Make Art Stay-tion with our Sticky Note Tape.  Then I took my 1″ Square Watercolor Brush and washed the background colors on.  I just love this look.  The Make Art Stay-tion makes it so easy because you can line up the tape with the grid making the frame as big or as little as you want it.  GORGEOUS!!!
