Poppy Fields on Memorial Day

Hidy Ho Teaspoon Fans,

Today Teaspoon of Fun is bringing you a new patriotic card I created for Memorial Day.  During the First World War, millions of soldiers saw fields filled with thousands of Flanders Poppies flourishing in the midst of chaos and destruction. Some even sent pressed poppies home in letters. Now over 100 years later, red poppies are worn as a show of support for all those who lost their lives from the beginning of the First World War until present day.

Poppy Field Bold Prints is such a pretty stamp.  It can be used as a background stamp or as the entire focal point.  This stamp doesn’t have to be used just for Memorial Day, it can be used for for any occasion – Birthday, Sympathy, Thinking of You, Thank you, Good Friend and so much more.  I love poppies especially their color!

For this version of the card I used my Stampendable, Magic Anti-Static Brush, WOW Ink Pad & Refill combo and Gold Embossing Powder then heat it with your Heat Tool.  That alone is so beautiful.  Give it a try on black card stock and OHHHHHHHH my gosh it’s gorgeous!  I layered that onto my Gold Mirror Paper and then onto my black card base.  

I did a quick coloring of flowers using my Copic Markers – R27, R39, BG78 and the 0 Colorless Blender

Finish it off with one of our NEW Thank You Foil Greetings Black Circle Tabs.  If you haven’t tried these (we have many in the shop with different colors and different sayings).  They are definitely a game changer and a great item to have on hand.

Add your card to one of our A2 White or A2 Cream Envelopes and mail it off to your dear friend.
