Brand New Fun POP-UP Die
Hidey Ho Teaspoon Fans,
Today Teaspoon of Fun is sooooo excited to show you a new die in the shop called Tree Pop-up Die. It comes with all the fixin’s for the pop up and the tree along with the swings…BUT the mechanism can be used to make anything pop-up!!! This is another one of our dies that MAKES YOUR LIFE SO EASY!!! You can even put more than one pop-up in the same card. Let’s take a look at what I picked for you today…
Clouds and Grass Scenic Stencil
Colors I used – Peeled Paint and Tumbled Glass
Thin White Foam Squares
This card is adorable and you can use any sets to pop up. I used the dies that come with the pop-up mechanism so you can see how fun it is. You can use this tree for all seasons. For the outside of the card I used the pop-up tire swing. I used the sit on wooden swing for the inside of this card.
So we need to start by adhering your card layer to the inside of the card using the Precision Glue Press. Do this before you cut anything out. Remember you can put as many pop-up’s on this fold as you want. So if you are doing spooky ghosts and you want to pop-up 4 of them, adjust this mechanism and cut four of them. It’s that easy. Center the two pop-outs directly on the fold and run it through your die cutting machine.
When you take the die off, this is what it looks like.
Put your finger in the back of the card base and pop it into the card. Use your Crease Tool to make sharp creases and now you can close your card.
Cut out one Double Stitched Rectangle from white card stock. Now you’re going to stencil the clouds and the grass using the Clouds and Grass Scenic Stencil, Distress Oxide Ink (Colors I used – Peeled Paint and Tumbled Glass) and Blending Brushes. You are also going to do this on the INSIDE of the card directly on the card base but make sure you use your TOF Sticky Note Tape Roll and mask off the lower porting of the card base so you don’t get the grass color on the bottom of the base.
Cut out the “hello” from the Brush Hello Die from the middle of a piece of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card stock. Also cut a tire swing using the Tree Pop-Up Die from this same piece of card stock. Set both of those aside. Adhere this black layer to the front of the card base using the EZ Grand Tape Dispenser then attach the stenciled Double Stitched Rectangle on top of the black layer covering up the holes from the tire swing and the word die also using the EZ Grand Tape Dispenser. Using the Tree Pop-Up Die….
Cut:
2 Tree Bases
2 Leaf Bases
2 sets of extra leaves
4 set of flowers (I did two different colors)
1 wooden swing (inside) out of the Kraft Woodgrain Card Stock
Let’s work on the front of the card first. Add your tire swing to the tree base with some twine. Now add the tree base with Black Micro Foam Squares to the card base. Add the solid leaf base to the tree trunk with the Precision Glue Press. Next add your flowers and extra leaves. I did add some Antique Gold Rhinestones to the middle of the flowers. You could DEFINITELY add some Nuvo Drops instead of Rhinestones if you prefer. We have so many to choose from. Adhere this to the card base using the Black Regular Foam Squares. The last thing for the front of the card is to add your Brush Hello sentiment using the Precision Glue Press.
Now let’s work on the inside of the card. You’ve already stenciled the backdrop and cut all the tree pieces. Put your wooden swing on the branch. Then put your tree together just as you did for the front tree except for this tree I used my Thin White Foam Squares to attach the leaves for a subtle little pop. 
Add some glue from the Precision Glue Press to the little pop out and add your tree. I also cut a few more leaves and added them to the bottom of the trunk.
I cut three sets of the Sending Love & Hugs Die and glued them together with the Precision Glue Press then attached them to the card base also using the Precision Glue Press. Two of the tools that I used a LOT in creating this card were the Retractable Pick and the Jewel Picker.
Add your card to one of our A2 White or A2 Cream Envelopes and mail it off to your dear friend.
